WW1 Remembrance

A Programme of readings and music in remembrance of those Bunwell soldiers who gave their lives in the cause of freedom in the Great War 1914-1918

Bunwell Street Closure

The below notice has been received from Norfolk County Council:-

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C139 Bunwell Street from its junction with U76257 Greenways for a distance of 50 metres eastwards in the PARISH OF BUNWELL because of trial holes for water works.

The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 22nd October 2018 to 26th October 2018 for the duration of the works, expected to be 5 days within the period.

Alternative route is via: C139 Bunwell Street, C139 Mile Road, C139 Besthorpe Road, C140 Bunwell Road, C140 Chapel Road, C140 Suton Lane, B1172 London Road, C594 Station Road, C175 Ayton Road, C175 Browick Road, C186 Stanfield Road, C186 Wymondham Road, B1113 Norwich Road, B1113 The Turnpike (Wymondham, Wreningham, Bracon Ash, Bunwell, Tacolneston, Ashwellthorpe and Fundenhall, Forncett, Carleton Rode, Besthorpe).

(If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).

Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.

South Norfolk Council World Record Attempt

South Norfolk Council have a World Record Attempt on Friday 27 July at Whitlingham Country Park to celebrate Norfolk Day

They will be attempting to break the record for the largest gathering of people dressed as hares! The attempt will be from 1pm – 2pm as part of the Totally Broads Family Fun Day which is a free event running from 11am – 3pm with lots of activities for the whole family to enjoy. There is a current world record for 1,119 hares which we need to beat!

Bunwell Village Screen

Bunwell Cinema Group are looking for volunteers! Come on board to help them run more regular film screenings in Bunwell! You don’t need a huge amount of time or technical knowledge to be involved, just enthusiasm and confidence. Things you might help with are: choosing the films that get screened, marketing, refreshments, and helping to run the screening.
